Person finds blind and paraplegic abandoned cat, slowly nurses the cutie back to health and finds the him the purrfect home set up for especially for disabled felines

Good meowrning, everyone! We've always been adamant that all fluffy felines deserve love—no exceptions. That includes special kitties who may be disabled or have unique challenges. Thankfully, kindhearted humans around the world make endless efforts to rescue abandoned felines in need, and for that, our faith in humanity is slightly restored.

Today, we're shining our fabulous ICanHasCheezburger spotlight on the awwmazing recovery of a sweet feline affectionately named Deluca by the human who rescued him. The kindhearted rescuer recounts the long and difficult journey they've had together. Deluca had absolutely been through the wringer when the original poster (OP) found him. He was suffering from infections in his ears, urine, and eyes, severe dehydration, and blood in his bladder. His spine was broken, along with some ribs. It was as if someone had hit him with their car and just driven off—without a care in the world.

People like that infuriate us. We can't wrap our heads around the kind of cruelty it takes to leave a helpless animal alone to suffer. But the one bright spot in this heartbreaking story is that Deluca was nursed back to health—and, thanks to his rescuer, he found the most purrfect forever home, where he'll live out his days peacefully, loved, and well cared for.

    "Rescue of a blind and paraplegic kitten!"

    It's been a few years, but I still keep track! This boy was found at night meowing a lot in the rain, he was blind and couldn't walk, I brought him inside and with the help of family and friends on the Internet, I managed to take him to the vet.

    It would be easier to say what this boy didn't have, he had an infection in his ears, urine, eyes, dehydration, blood in his bladder. His spine was broken along with some ribs. It was horrible! He had probably been run over and left to fend for himself.

    It was a long road, but with a lot of love. and care, Deluca's dignity (the name I gave him) was restored, my house was not adapted for a special kitten and I was not in a position to be his permanent home, but he went to a house with a girl who had experience with special kittens, he can even take a few steps on his own! But he still doesn't control his bowels or bladder. A sweet baby

  • Precious baby. This angel has been through a thing or two, and now it's time for him to focus all of his energy on healing and recovering. We believe in him. There's nothing that sweet Deluca can not do once he puts his mind to it. That paired with his wholesome human's love and adoration for him and the sky is the limit.

    Total_Leg_9122 • 6h ago Awesome you could help him! Definitely not an easy task. My 3rd cat Tamar was sorta similar. We found her in the streets crawling. Took her to the vet several times and got her much better. She required a lot of therapy but all worth it. Nowadays she can move her hind legs almost fully. She's very active even though she can't climb walls. We love her very much and has 2 older sisters that give her lots of company and love.

I believe that in Deluca's case, before the accident he was already a very weak cat, he was an old cat (from what my veterinarian told me), despite all these infections and problems, he was not thin, so he probably had an owner, who did
